Dalziel and Warrington's knockout Christmas gift for the homeless
National retail butchery specialist Dalziel Ltd has teamed up with world boxing title contender Josh Warrington to help the homeless in Leeds.
Warrington is currently the WBC International and European featherweight champion, having previously held the English, British and Commonwealth featherweight titles.
Dalziel Ltd is the UK’s specialist supplier to the nation’s retail butchery industry, serving butchers since 1926 with a full range of the finest quality frozen and chilled meat, an extensive range of ingredients, butchers’ sundries and packaging.
They sponsor Josh Warrington, who now boasts a 24-0 record, and is being lined up by legendary boxing manager Eddie Hearn for a world title shot in his home town.
Together, Warrington and Dalziel have committed to provide a year’s supply of meat to St George’s Crypt to help feed homeless people in Leeds.
St George’s Crypt will prepare around 50 meals each day throughout 2017, available on a first come, first served basis, with produce supplied by Dalziel’s Leeds depot, one of 12 strategically-placed locations around the UK.
Clients of St George’s Crypt will be able to enjoy Drovers beef, Glenvale pork, Oakwell gammon and Gressingham turkey once a week for a whole year – ensuring up to 350 meals a week throughout the year.

With huge thanks to our suppliers Dunbia, Pork Traders, Westvlees and Gressingham Foods, we are committing to a year-round campaign aimed at helping the most vulnerable in society.”
Josh Warrington said: “We can all play a role in supporting those less fortunate than us that sleep on the streets in Leeds and it’s great to have this opportunity to help out.
“Giving them food each week through 2017 is a small step to getting them back on the road to recovery.”
It is estimated that at any time there are around 40 homeless people in Leeds who, without access to St George’s Crypt and other support organisations, would be forced to live permanently on the streets.

“Nurture offers jobs and volunteering opportunities to former Crypt clients and the generosity of Dalziel will not only provide fantastic meals in the run up to Christmas, but also will enhance the training opportunities for our team in preparing these meals.”
