BVA voices support for international veterinary family following reports of vet prevented from flying to the US

bvaFollowing reports that Dr Hamaseh Tayari, who holds an Iranian passport, was prevented from flying to the US under President Donald Trump's executive order barring citizens from several countries, the British Veterinary Association (BVA) has voiced support for vets across the globe regardless of where they come from.

Dr Tayari had been due to fly home from a holiday in Costa Rica via New York. But she was told she could not fly to the USA because of the order.

Irish Food and Drink Exports Hit €11 Billion for First Time Ever

bordbiaFigures announced today by Bord Bia, the Irish Food Board, show the value of Irish agri-food and drink exports has exceeded €11 billion for the first time ever in 2016, despite a small decrease in UK exports following Brexit and currency fluctuations.  

Overall exports were up 2% on last year. The 8% fall in UK exports has been offset by strong growth in international markets (+13%), in particular North America, China and the Rest of Asia, and EU Markets (+3%).
