Belgian pork producer Westvlees was named Dalziel’s Top Supplier of the Year for its outstanding performance in sales growth.

Since the introduction in June of Dalziel’s own pork brand Glenvale Pork under an exclusive partnership with Westvlees, Dalziel has seen a 94 per cent increase in its pork sales with Westvlees products.

Dalziel’s former chairman Sandy Dalziel presented Westvlees UK sales manager Michael Catry with the company’s award.

Mr Catry said: “We are delighted to receive this award from Dalziel.  Westvlees continuously invests in the highest international quality and food safety standards to guarantee Glenvale’s premium quality status.

“We have a strong relationship working together for 15 years, and we look forward to many more successful collaborations over the coming years.”

Glenvale Pork is the third exclusive meat brand to be introduced by Dalziel, together with its own premium gammon brand Oakwell Gold in partnership with Pork Traders Oakwell Ltd and its highly successful ‘Drovers’ beef range in partnership with Dunbia.

At the same event, Dalziel also recognised its own top performing depots and sales people with a selection of awards after a highly successful year.

Dalziel is the UK’s largest supplier to the UK’s retail butchery industry, serving butchers since 1926 with an extensive range of dry ingredients and butchers sundries.   The company’s meat division is one of the UK’s largest meat wholesalers supplying the finest quality frozen and chilled meat.  Other divisions specialise in blended ingredients and packaging as a major UK supplier to food processors.
