Scott Technology (NZX: SCT) and AERSA have entered a strategic partnership to bring BladeStop safety bandsaws to customers throughout Mexico, expanding regional access to Scott’s innovative technology, backed by local service, support, and genuine spare parts.
“AERSA has spent nearly five decades building trusted relationships with many of the country’s leading meat, poultry, seafood, and food processors,” said Mark Host, President of Protein at Scott. “Their deep understanding of the market and established customer relationships make them an ideal partner to introduce BladeStop to processors across Mexico. Together, we’re combining Scott’s patented safety technology with AERSA’s expertise to deliver product service and support .”
BladeStop was engineered for the unpredictability of real-world production environments with two independent safety activation systems. GloveCheck monitors operators’ gloved hands approaching the safety zone around the blade to prevent possible contact. If visibility is obstructed or another part of the body reaches the blade, BodySensing provides an independent second layer of full-body protection by detecting direct contact through a harmless ultra-low-voltage signal.
When activated, BladeStop’s patented mechanical blade clamp stops the blade in less than 10 milliseconds – the fastest stopping performance available. This near instant response minimizes further blade travel to prevent either contact with the blade itself or severe, life-changing injuries if contact does occur.

Beyond supplying equipment, AERSA will act as an extension of Scott BladeStop business by providing localized support throughout the product lifecycle. Factory-trained technicians will perform certified service, preventive maintenance, and safety-system validation to help ensure every BladeStop saw continues to operate as intended and remains ready to engage when needed. Spanish-language onboarding and operator training help processors manage high workforce turnover while strengthening workplace safety programs and supporting regulatory compliance. Supported by local inventory of BladeStop replacement parts, AERSA helps customers minimize downtime, maximize productivity, and protect their investment.
“Installing the safest bandsaw is only the beginning,” said Jose Antonio Flores Rodriguez, Operating Partner at AERSA. “Long-term success depends on keeping that equipment operating exactly as intended while ensuring every new operator understands how to use it safely. That’s the value we’re bringing to processors across Mexico through our local expertise, certified support, and commitment to customer success.”
