Family Day at Handtmann celebrating the company’s 150th anniversary
The Handtmann Group of Companies celebrates its 150th anniversary. Established in 1873 in Biberach an der Riß, Upper Swabia, Germany, the company today employs around 4,300 people, of which 2,700 at the headquarters in Biberach. This past Saturday, the Handtmann family, currently leading the globally operating company in fifth generation, hosted the Family Day.
Employees as well as retirees with their families were invited to get a first-hand impression of the six company divisions Light Metal Casting, Systems Engineering, Process Technology, e-solutions, Plastics Engineering and Filling and Portioning Systems (F&P).

The Filling and Portioning Systems division, which evolved from the Maschinenfabrik founded in 1954, also offered visitors a diverse event programme. Besides an entertaining social programme for the entire family, it was also possible to experience the technologies featured in the company’s product portfolio hands-on: children were able to expertly and effortlessly dose their own dessert from the easy-to-use dosing valve, or sausages and snacks to-go straight from the sausage filling line. Employees from the production sites in Zittau and Reutlingen, from the Dutch Amersfoort and Hluk in Czech Republic as well as from Handtmann Maschinenvertrieb Deutschland in Georgsmarienhütte also made the journey to join the event.

The enormous interest in the Family Day shows us just how much our employees identify with the company.” Mark Betzold added: “Many at Handtmann are already in the second or even third generation of employment with us. Today, we have seen this sense of loyalty and multifaceted togetherness in its finest form.” Markus Handtmann and Valentin Ulrich, the new Managing Directors of the Handtmann Group of Companies, also mingled with the colourful Handtmann family and seized the opportunity to meet visitors in person: “For us, this was one of the highlights of the year that is so special for Handtmann.” www.handtmann.de
