GLOBALG.A.P. developed Responsible Operations Standard for Compound Feed Manufacturers

national-guidelines

Moving towards a sustainable world, GLOBALG.A.P. is always seeking to lead the market and support trends setting good practices at farm level.

Animals raised for human consumption are one part of this – not just the animals themselves, but also the appropriate and sustainable sourcing of raw ingredients for their feed.

Increasing demand from consumers about this issue has led GLOBALG.A.P. to develop a voluntary Add-on Standard to the GLOBALG.A.P. Compound Feed Manufacturing (CFM) Standard and other benchmarked standards.

This Responsible Operations Standard (ROS) for Compound Feed Manufacturers works to improve the sustainability of compound feed production.

The first draft version of this ROS for CFM was open for public consultation until 15 February 2015.

This Add-on is intended to be implemented on a voluntary manner. Those feed mills that are currently certified and supplying compound feed to livestock and aquaculture GLOBALG.A.P. certified farms, will have the option to upgrade on responsible practices through compliance with this ROS Add-on, which will be reflected on the certification at farm level.
