Spectacular Theatre Line-up at IFE 2017

ifeThe International Food & Drink Event (IFE 2017) is the UK’s biggest food and drink trade show, bursting with inspiration, with the most innovative suppliers and engaging speakers. Visiting buyers have a huge range of choice when it comes to show content. This year’s show highlights include two brand new speaker stages hosting a range of cutting-edge presentations, as well as live cookery demonstrations to educate and inspire. Each seminar has been carefully designed to address key industry issues, highlight the latest food & drink trends and spark genuine conversation and debate.

Changes in consumer demands continue to lead the way in shaping our food and drink landscape and this year’s new Talking Trends stage is the place to discover the latest trend news.  From fermented foods to food as a cure, host Jane Parkinson, Wine Critic at Saturday Kitchen, will welcome an exciting selection of industry speakers. Jon Hulme & John Burke, Founders, Craft Gin Club will be exploring the rise of craft gins & spirits, whilst, Penny Mackintosh, Head of Category and Shopper Marketing, Graze will share her insight on the diversification of food on the go.

This year the new keynote speaker stage, the Big Picture theatre, will focus on the major issues challenging the wider industry. Hosted by Andrew D Scott MIH, Owner of Victus Consultancy, the spectacular programme includes Anton Alldrick, Special Project Manager, Campden BRI discussing the fight against obesity.  While Fraser McKevitt, Head of Retail and Consumer Insight at Kantar will be exploring the channels of food retail.

Frozen ingredients have been a key focus for retailers and caterers over the last year and visitors interested in the advantages of cooking with frozen produce can stop by the Ice Café sponsored by Bidfood. Running in association with BFFF and Craft Guild of Chefs, the new demo area will illustrate the diversity and benefits of frozen produce. Buyers will be invited to sample a range of bowl food dishes and be in with the chance of winning a fantastic prize!

Also, brand new for 2017 is The Staff Canteen Live with Headline Sponsor Westlands, an interactive demo area hosted by the industry’s finest chefs. This highly interactive platform will give visitors the opportunity to engage with a world-class group of chefs as they cook up a storm with a range of on-trend ingredients and share behind the scenes insight. This years fantastic line-up includes Lee Westcott, Executive Chef, Typing Room; James Golding, Group Chef Director, The Pig Hotel and Tom Brown, Head Chef, Outlaw’s at the Capital Restaurant.

IFE 2017 is co-located with Waste-Works, the UK’s only waste & sustainability event for the food industry and Pro2Pac, the UK’s only food & drink packaging event.  Together the three events cover the entire supply chain; and this year organisers, Fresh Montgomery are offering a concierge service, run by Robert Herridge who has 27 years experience in the industry, to bring together packaging brands and manufacturers to maximise exhibitor benefits. Visitors to Pro2Pac can also visit the brand new theatre – Outside the Box, which will focus on the hot topics and key matters challenging the industry. The line-up includes Samantha Edgar, Communications, Tetra Pak who will be looking at packaging for a healthier future and Adam Leyland, Editor at The Grocer, Leader of the Waste Not, Want Not Campaign who will be demonstrating how to turn 100,000 tonnes of waste into 100 million extra meals.
