BITEC hosts GEA Food Solutions’ latest innovations at ProPak Asia

World renowned technology specialist GEA will be sharing its vision of ‘a taste of tomorrow’ at this year’s ProPak Asia, taking place June 14-17 at BITEC in Thailand. The company will be showcasing a diverse range of machinery and product developments at stand AX21, including a much-anticipated debut for the Asian market.

For GEA it’s the first return to ProPak after the Covid pandemic.

GEA is celebrating its 60-year anniversary in food processing and is marking the occasion by showing for the first time a number of brand new technical innovations in meat, poultry and vegetarian food, bakery, pasta and extruded foods. This includes the highlight - the redesign of a legendary machine in the breading/coating industry: the CrumbMaster Gen 2 will be presented for the first time to the Asian market at ProPak.

CrumbMaster Gen 2 is the latest evolution of GEA’s trusted in-line crumb coating/breading system for accurate spreading on poultry, meat, fish, and meat-replacement/plant-based products and with fine, coarse, J-crumbs or modern specialty crumbs.

The new machine shows markedly improved performance in terms of keeping the crumb specifications throughout the process without crumb break and offers higher flexibility, hygiene and dust-free production. Building on the original machine’s 25-year legacy, the innovative redesign is expected to set a new high performance bar within the food processing industry

Also being exhibited at the booth will be the MultiJector as a cornerstone of GEA’s high-capacity high-quality injection lines for poultry, bacon, ham, and fish. GEA will demonstrate its full line marination competency covering defrosting, brine preparation, injection, tenderizing, tumbling, massaging and curing, molding and forming, cooking and smoking, slicing and packaging – at each process step focusing on maximizing efficiency, yield, product quality and food safety.

ProPak Asia promises to be a packed show with GEA further highlighting its freezer solutions for meat, fruit, vegetables, ready meals, bakery and dairy products. Highlights are the unique CALLIFREEZE control system which measures the product’s level of frozenness inline and automatically controls the freezer parameters to freeze product according to target - and this with the minimum of energy consumption; the GEA IVRT4000 carton freezer for high capacity, automated in-line freezing solutions for food in cartons and shrink-wrapped products, and its customizable S-Tec spiral freezing and chilling solutions designed for superior hygiene, high product yield, reliability, and energy saving.

GEA’s heritage in food processing and packaging has enabled it to build on its technology offering year after year. At ProPak, GEA will also highlight Vertical Form Fill Seal packaging technology and thermoforming packaging technology for a wide range of fresh and frozen food applications. PowerPak PLUS, for example, is a premium thermoformer ideal for sustainable food packaging. As an industry leading solution for horizontal packaging, the machine offers other excellent benefits including increased flexibility, higher productivity and reduced operating costs.

GEA will present solutions for the bakery industry, with a focus on complete processing lines for cupcakes, muffins, injected cakes as well as the GEA Bake Capptronic, which features a smart biscuit tilting system, coupled with a manifold design that maintains product weight, so you can expect reproducible, precisely formed products, whatever recipe, texture or form.

GEA will also introduce its processing lines for healthy extruded foods, with specific focus on the range of extruders GEA xTru: in addition to innovative process technologies for noodles and brand-new breakfast cereals produced with air-expanded pellets, there will be an in-depth look at the processing lines for pellet snacks made from high-protein ingredients and with increasingly attractive shapes to captivate the snack market. Furthermore, it will be an opportunity to discover the latest optimizations of the processing technologies for the most complex geometries such as hyperbolic paraboloid (stackable) chips.
