In-line, 100% seal inspection improves packaging quality and productivity

engilicoIN-LINE, 100% SEAL INSPECTION IS YOUR GAMECHANGER

Seal contamination such as wrinkles, folds and product in seal is a major problem for producers packaging meat, as it can lead to leakage and consequently to reduced shelf life and even costly recalls.

Therefore, automatic detection of contaminated seals is extremely important for both food safety and production automation.

Engilico provides solutions for flexible packaging (flow-packs, bags, pouches) as well as for rigid packaging such as trays and thermoforms to achieve better packaging quality, higher packaging productivity and end-of-line automation.

100% SEAL INSPECTION FOR BETTER PACKAGING QUALITY
SealScope® | In-line 100% seal inspection for FLEXIBLE PACKAGING
Flow-packs, pouches and VFFS bags are today frequently used for packaging sliced meat, but also for minced meat, pâtés or sausages
SealScope®  is an in-line, 100% seal inspection and process monitoring technology. Using sensors integrated on the heat sealing unit, SealScope®  non-destructively detects wrinkles and product in seal and will issue a rejection signal to remove the badly sealed packages from the line.

NEW | Hyperspectral in-line seal inspection for RIGID trays and thermoforms
Products such as sliced charcuterie, bacon, meat (preparations) are often packaged in plastic trays, in thermoformed packaging or on cardboard trays, which are then sealed with transparent or printed film.
HyperScope®  uses hyperspectral imaging to detect seal contamination with high contrast, even when using printed films. The inspection system uses artificial intelligence, allowing highly accurate detection of the sealing area in real-time, regardless of the orientation, layout or size of the package. This allows contaminations such as meat, grease, oil, to be distinguished with high contrast from the plastic film, even when printed.
